Large- and Small-Signal Modeling Derived Loss Optimal Power Loop Decoupling Mechanism of TAB Converter

This paper presents a precisely synthesized full order as well reduced continuous time large signal and small model of hybrid phase-duty controlled triple-active bridge (TAB) converter based on higher harmonic frequency inclusive averaging model. Such helps to accurately predict the steady state circuit parameters such inductor current, average output voltage, voltage ripple etc. that in turn can be used formulate loss minimized optimal modulation strategy for TAB. Further, derived specifically high dynamics which are neglected modeling. Moreover, facilitate decoupled power flow TAB, decoupler network is formulated meticulously modeled plant considering harmonics voltages into calculation. Finally, controller-based management proposed this study decouples TAB control loops facilitates faster transient performance with two independent PI controllers. An 800W proof-of-concept designed, fabricated, tested verify established modeling techniques controller decoupling action. With implementation under an 80% load at 2 nd port, experimental results show 30% improvement overshoot compared fundamental method.
